UPDATE: Police reports filed when fraternity members were booked indicate Lafayette man was in charge during some incidents, the Advocate reports.
Cade Rain Duckworth, 23, of Lafayette was one of nine members of LSU’s Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity arrested Thursday after details emerged about alleged hazing that took place at the fraternity, the newspaper reports.
The arrest report for Duckworth, includes several of the most egregious alleged instances and police wrote he “seemed to be controlling the situation” during some rituals.
Duckworth was booked on three counts of misdemeanor criminal hazing (misdemeanor) and one count each of attempted second degree battery, second degree battery and false imprisonment — all felonies.

Nine members of LSU’s Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity were arrested and accused of hazing and other related offenses after the national organization — one of the oldest fraternities in the nation — closed it’s LSU chapter last month, our media partners at The Advocate report.
“We can confirm that nine members of the LSU chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon, or DKE, have been arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for hazing-related activities that are alleged to have taken place in the fall of 2018,” LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard III said in a statement Thursday morning. “This type of behavior is unacceptable and at complete odds with what we expect from our students. It does not belong at LSU.”

Charles Eugene Brakenridge, 23, Ferriday, La. – 1 count of Principal to Criminal Hazing (misdemeanor) and 1 count of criminal hazing – representative duty to report (misdemeanor)
Blake Andrew Chalin, 20, Gretna, La. – 3 counts of criminal hazing (misdemeanor)
Cade Rain Duckworth, 23, Lafayette, La. – 3 counts of criminal hazing (misdemeanor); 1 count of attempted second-degree battery (felony); 1 count of second-degree battery (felony); and 1 count of false imprisonment (felony)
