A Baton Rouge police officer was killed today after the motorcycle he was riding was hit during a funeral escort, WBRZ reports.
Police say the crash happened as a pick-up truck pulled in front of 31-year-old Shane Totty while he was escorting a funeral.
The crash was reported around 2:45 p.m.
Totty was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police confirmed he had died just before 6 p.m.
At this time, it’s unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the crash.
