November has only just begun, but that isn’t stopping a blast of cold weather from making its presence known throughout the United States.

In Louisiana, residents are getting a true taste of winter with cold temperatures this week. Highs in the low 40s and a wind chill in the 30s for Acadiana are making people bundle up before heading outside. In north Louisiana residents got an even bigger surprise with a light dusting of snow.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport posted this video to their Facebook page Tuesday morning to document the snowfall.

Acadiana won’t be experiencing any type of frozen precipitation any time soon, but we can expect some freezing temperatures as the week goes on. For the full forecast, click here and be sure to tune in to KATC at 5, 6, and 10 pm for continuous weather updates.
