An Alabama fan who was beaten in a Ponchatoula bar early Sunday morning and has been on life support since died Tuesday, and two people have been arrested, our media partners at The Advocate report.

Robert Bowers, 46, was found by police, unconscious, at the bar, the newspaper reports.

Azia Crockett, 27, and Ryan Anthony, 24, have been booked with one count each of felony manslaughter and turned themselves in to police. They were booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail, the Advocate reports.

Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson told the newspaper he believes the incident began as a verbal argument between Bowers and Crockett over the LSU-Alabama football game, although witnesses could not say for sure what it was about.

Bowers was an Alabama fan, while the two suspects are LSU fans, he said.
