Drew Brees hits another milestone: 500 career touchdown passes

Posted

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees hit another milestone during today’s game, becoming the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw 500 career touchdown passes.

It was only a one-yard pass – to tight end Benjamin Watson – but it put him in the history books.

Brees joins Peyton Manning, who threw 539, Brett Favre, with 508, and Tom Brady with 504.

This was the third time so far this season that Brees set a record. He nudged out Favre as the all-time career completions leader in the Falcons game, and took over the all-time career passing leader spot from Manning in the Redskins game two weeks later.

Brees is also the only quarterback in NFL history to throw 5,000 yards in a season five times.
