A woman accused of fatally shooting her soon-to-be ex-husband in a Walmart parking lot in Alexandria was indicted on first-degree murder today, KALB reports.
Thirty-one-year-old Kayla Giles Coutee was originally arrested for second-degree murder on September 8 after police found 30-year-old Thomas Coutee lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to the Alexandria-based media outlet, the Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office has not said if it plans to seek the death penalty in the case.
