The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announces the temporary closure of Elmer’s Island.
The island, located on the southwestern tip of Jefferson Parish, will be closed beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
Elmer’s Island will remain closed until further notice. LDWF says that the closure is precautionary due to the projected path of Tropical Storm Gordon and possible impacts from the storm.
