The City of Ville Platte held drive-thru testing on Friday at the Northside Civic Center for COVID-19 testing.
The testing was conducted by Southwest Primary Health Care Center.
Ville Platte is the first municipality in Evangeline Parish to have mobile testing.
"Because we have had zero deaths, a lot of people are getting a false sense of security in Evangeline Parish," said Jennifer Vidrine, Ville Platte Mayor. "Thinking that it's not here or it's okay. So that's why is was so important to me, for us to get testing done in Ville Platte to make sure. This has been keeping me up at night."
