As of August 2, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 3,467 and the number of deaths had increased by 58, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
The total number of cases in the state is now at 119,747 and 3,893 deaths as of Sunday, August 2.
NOTE: The state does not provide numbers on Saturday, which means these increases reflect two days of reported numbers, i.e. today's numbers have been compared to Friday's numbers.
The state reports that 33% of today’s reported COVID cases are among people ages 18 to 29 years. Children younger than 18 years make up 10% of today’s reported cases, and that is higher than the percentage of cases among people older than 70 years of age.
LDH reports that 95% of these newly reported cases are tied to community spread, and 78% of these cases date back to the last week (7/26-8/2). Another 11% date back to the week prior (7/18-7/25).
LDH is reporting that 74,246 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 7/27/20).
The LDH reports that 1,534 people are hospitalized (down 12 from Friday). Of those, 221 required ventilators (down 1 from Friday).

The total number of cases in the state is now at 116,280 and 3,835 deaths as of Friday.
LDH is reporting that 74,246 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 7/27/20).
The LDH reports that 1,546 people are hospitalized (up 22 from Thursday). Of those, 222 required ventilators (up 17 from Thursday).

The total number of cases in the state is now at 114,481 and 3,811 deaths as of Thursday.
LDH is reporting that 74,246 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered" (updated weekly, last updated 7/27/20).
The LDH reports that 1,524 people are hospitalized (down 20 from Wednesday). Of those, 205 required ventilators (down 16 from Wednesday).
