"Our faith is strong and we're gonna overcome this just like we have done with any other tragedy," said Tiffany Smith.
Tonight we're learning more about the woman who died in Sunday night's tornado near Church Point. That woman identified today as Latreka Dominick. Dominick was in one of the homes on Prudence Highway, destroyed by the tornado. At least nine others in that neighborhood, including two relatives in the house with Dominick were injured.
"Our cousin was killed as a result and two are hospitalized," said Tiffany Smith.
This is the first time Tiffany Smith is seeing the damage in person since hearing about the death of her cousin, Latreka Dominick.
Dominick, who had Down Syndrome, her mother, and brother were sleeping when the tornado picked their home up and tossed it. They were found beneath the rubble.
Smith says her aunt and cousin are still recovering.
"They're still in the hospital, so they do have a long road ahead, because the injuries are extensive," said Smith.
"We're really gonna miss her because she was the life of every party. We are always stay together. We stick together no matter what. Our faith is strong and we're gonna overcome this just like we have done with any other tragedy in our family," said Smith.
We'll update this story with donation links for those would like to help the Dominick family.
