Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Vinton teen in connection with a home invasion that left two elderly people injured.

Moeshay Janice, 19, is accused of home invasion; carjacking; and battery of the infirm. She's in the Calcasieu Parish jail in lieu of $800,000 bond.

The incident happened on Tuesday at about 1 p.m. An older man flagged down a deputy near La. 14 and Eighth Street in Lake Charles. The man said a woman pushed her way into his house and tried to steal his keys. She allegedly knocked over an older woman in the home and stole her keys, then knocked down the older man and left in the woman's SUV.

CPSO detectives arrived on scene and began canvassing the area, in an attempt to locate the vehicle and the woman. A short time later she was observed walking in the area where the home invasion occurred. She was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

CPSO Deputy Alex McKnight is the arresting deputy and CPSO Detective Travis Lavergne is the lead investigator on this case.

The SUV was later located with the assistance of OnStar.

The two victims received minor injuries.
