A Lake Charles man was arrested Sunday following a shooting that left one man injured.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says that deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a trailer park off Old Deridder Highway on December 13.
When deputies arrived they say they located a victim lying in the roadway, suffering from what appeared to be two gunshot wounds. The sheriff's office says the victim was shot once but had two wounds.
Further investigation revealed that the victim and 53-year-old Ivan Monceaux, Jr. had gotten into a verbal argument. Deputies say that during the argument, Monceaux allegedly shot the victim who is an acquaintance.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Monceaux was located at his residence by deputies where he was arrested and later booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated 2nd degree battery; aggravated assault with a firearm; and illegal discharge of a firearm.
His bond is set at $400,000.
