Two wanted in Calcasieu ATM thefts arrested

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says that the two men wanted in connection with ATM thefts in the parish have been arrested

Deputies say that on Wednesday, September 25, Melvin Cupp of Spring, Texas turned himself into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

A second suspect, Joshua Leroy Fontenot of Denham Springs was arrested Thursday morning in Orange, Texas following a traffic stop.

On September 23, five suspects were arrested by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office along with other Texas law enforcement agencies.

  • Brandon Hightower, 33, Humble, Texas
  • Hosea Owens IV, 28, Alvin, Texas
  • Christopher Scott, 44, Lake Jackson, Texas
  • James Hicks, 33, Huffman, Texas
  • Faith Breaux, 27, Beaumont, Texas

An investigation into thefts by detectives uncovered that the two ATM thefts were related and the suspects stole over $150,000 total from both ATMs.

Detectives said that all of the suspects were allegedly identified as members or affiliates of the Brother East (B*EAST) Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
