A two-vehicle crash on LA 108 in Calcasieu Parish Thursday night claimed the lives of two Sulphur residents.
According to State Police, the crash occurred shortly after 8:00 pm Thursday, September 12 on LA 108 at LA 27.
An investigation into the crash revealed that a 2019 Kia Rio was traveling east on La 108 when it failed to yield while turning left onto LA 27. While turning, the Kia crossed the path of a westbound Ford F-150 resulting in the crash.
The driver of the Kia, 43-year-old Billy J. Cornes, and his passenger, 36-year-old Danielle R. Cornes, were pronounced dead at the scene.
State Police say the driver of the F-150 was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers for analysis.
