Tides Loads of Hope deploys to Lake Charles to provide laundry service

The Tide Loads of Hope laundry units will begin service in Lake Charles to families or first responders in need of personal care items and laundry service.

The mobile units will be begin service in Lake Charles on September 1, 2020 starting at 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Walmart location on Nelson Road.

Services are free to residents affected by Hurricane Laura. Those needing help with laundry can bring clothes (up to two loads per household) to be washed, dried and folded free of charge. All washable clothing types will be accepted with the exception of heavy bedding.

P&G, who puts on the Tide Loads of Hope initiative says that In partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, they will also be distributing free personal care kits with everyday essentials as well as cleaning products to meet basic hygiene and home care needs directly into the affected areas of those impacted by the disaster.

There will be safety protocols in place during the laundry services.

P&G says that Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundromat units allow for social distancing on-site, increased use of PPE, increased sanitation practices, signage instructions and non-contact registration. In addition, teams will adhere to local health agency COVID-19 guidelines and ask individuals who are visiting the mobile laundry units to wear masks.
