UPDATE (4:20 p.m.): The male homicide victim has been identified as 18-year-old Kaleb T. Charlton of Westlake.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says they are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide in Westlake.
Deputies say that 51-year-old Neil P. Broussard of Lake Charles is wanted in connection with the investigation.
The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at a home in the 2400 block of Duraso Drive in Westlake. Deputies say they were called to the residence following the report of a shooting.
Deputies say that they were advised by a resident that, following the shooting, Broussard had allegedly kidnapped her 14-year-old daughter from the home and stole her vehicle.
When deputies arrived they found three victims inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies say two of the victims, 17-year-old Kyla Hidalgo and an unknown male, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim, 40-year-old Catherine R. Hidalgo of Westlake, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Broussard is a family acquaintance, according to the sheriff's office.
A BOLO was issued for Broussard and an attempt to obtain an Amber Alert for the young girl was underway when at 7:00 a.m., deputies say the girl and the stolen car were located in Beauregard Parish by authorities.
Detectives are still currently attempting to locate Broussard.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest for aggravated kidnapping; aggravated battery; and 2 counts of 1st degree murder.
The sheriff's office says that Broussard should be considered armed and dangerous.
If anyone sees Broussard or knows of his whereabouts, they are asked to call 911 or the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.
Deputies say Broussard is a registered sex offender convicted of molestation of a juvenile in 2005 and 2 counts of molestation of a juvenile in 2011. He also has an active warrant in the amount of $2 million for his arrest for 1st degree rape and molestation of a juvenile, according to the sheriff's office
The identity of the unknown male victim will be released once verification of identify has been completed and next of kin has been notified.
