MOSS BLUFF, La. - A 15-year-old student was arrested for allegedly having a BB gun in his backpack.
On Thursday at 8:00 a.m., a Calcasieu Parish school resource officer at Sam Houston High School was informed by several different sources that a student possibly had a gun in his backpack.
The resource officer, along with school personnel, detained the student. After a search of his backpack, a BB gun, which looked similar to a real firearm, was located, according to a spokesperson for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
The student was booked in the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with illegal possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.
