A Lake Charles sex offender has been booked with rape, accused of raping teen over the past two years.

Todd J. Lavergne, 50, is a sex offender because he was convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in 1994.

He's been booked with third-degree rape and oral sexual battery now.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies say they received a complaint about him, and when they spoke with the victim - who is 15 years old - she told them that he had been raping her for about two years, most recently about a week ago.

A warrant was issued for Lavergne, who already was in jail for narcotics charges. His bond on the rape charge has been set at $2.5 million.

CPSO Detective Jacob Dore is the lead investigator on this case.
