A Lake Charles man was killed in a hit and run crash on Thursday in the city.
Police say the fatal pedestrian involved crash occurred on January 9th 2020 at around 4:03 a.m. at the intersection of East Broad Street and J. Bennet Johnston Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian, 43-year-old, William Wingate III of Lake Charles, dead near the roadway.
Through an investigation, officers say they determined that Wingate had been struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene without stopping.
