Man arrested for double shooting that killed 1, injured another

UPDATE: Detectives with the Lake Charles Police Department have arrested the person they say is responsible for a fatal shooting that killed one and injured another.

Police have identified the suspect in the shooting on Tulip Street as 52-year-old Michael Andre Thomas of Lake Charles. The shooting happened on January 7, 2020 at approximately 6:26 p.m. Thomas was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional facility on charges of Attempted 2nd degree murder and 2nd degree murder.

A Missouri man, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Napoleon from Kansas City, Missouri,died as a result of the incident. A woman was also shot and transported to a local hospital. Details on her condition were not provided.

Bond for Thomas has been set at $650,000.
