Man arrested on grand jury warrants for rape of children; girlfriend arrested for obstruction

A Lake Charles man has been arrested on a grand jury warrant for charges of rape and sexual battery along with his girlfriend who was arrested for obstruction.

33-year-old Timothy Benoit II of Lake Charles was indicted on January 16 by a grand jury. Following the indictment, warrants for his arrest were issued. Benoit's indictment stems from complaints that he allegedly sexually assaulted two girls on different occasions between 2015 and 2018. Those complaints stated that the girls were 5 and 8 years old at the time of those incidents.

The investigations were conducted by detectives and turned over to the District Attorney's Office.

Deputies attempted to locate Benoit at his home following his indictment but say they made contact with Benoit's girlfriend identified as 29-year-old Ashley Foy of Lake Charles. While speaking with Foy deputies say they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. Foy allegedly advised deputies Benoit was not there and was out of the state, but once detectives gained access into the home they located Benoit inside.

While deputies were inside, they say the home appeared to be in poor living condition and covered in animal feces. Deputies allegedly located suspected marijuana in a bed where Benoit and Foy's 5 month old twins were sleeping. Deputies say drug paraphernalia was also located inside the residence.

Foy allegedly told deputies that the marijuana and paraphernalia belonged to her.

Benoit and Foy were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Benoit is charged with 3 counts of 1st degree rape and 3 counts of sexual battery from his Grand Jury warrant. His is additionally charged with 3 counts of cruelty to a juvenile. His bond is set at $1,507,500.

Foy is charged with 3 counts of illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile; possession of marijuana; 3 counts of cruelty to a juvenile; obstruction of justice; and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. Her bond is set at $11,000.
