After months of ongoing clean up and recovery from Hurricanes Laura and now Delta, the City of Lake Charles and surrounding communities are still in need of help.

The city, one among many southwest Louisiana towns devastated by high winds and storm surge, was featured on Good Morning America on Thursday, October 22.

Robin Roberts and Rob Marciano visited the city and spoke with parish officials and residents about the ongoing cleanup and the help that is still desperately needed.

During the segment, a truckload of supplies and a check worth $500,000 was presented to Feeding America on behalf of health care company, Abbott.

For the next 24 hours, GMA is encouraging viewers to donate to Feeding America’s Hurricane Disaster Relief, which enables food banks in the heavily affected region of Southwestern Louisiana and Eastern Texas to serve individuals facing hunger. To donate, click here.

Abbott says that it will match up to $500,000 of donations dollar for dollar.

KATC's Chris Welty will have more tonight with Roberts and Marciano on GMA's partnership with Feeding America to help those impacted by Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
