Lake Charles is beginning to see the full effects of Hurricane Laura.
Our KATC crew are out at L'Auberge Casino and hotel in Lake Charles where the wind and the rain is beginning to pick up. Most of the hotel has been shut down and guests have been told to move to interior areas of room and brace for the storm.
Many residents of the city have been evacuate however there are some that remain in the city. See more on the story of one person who stayed behind with family.
Over the next few hours, conditions will deteriorate quickly as the eye-wall inches closer to Lake Charles.
