FEMA is proposing a group housing site for survivors in need of housing as a result of Hurricane Laura.
The agency has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed group site known as the Pine Shadows Golf Course Group Housing Site. The proposed action includes developing a 130-acre site for up to 275 transportable temporary housing units, or TTHUs, to be located in Lake Charles.
FEMA is required to provide a public notice for the Environmental Assessment.
Due to the emergency nature of the action and the need to provide temporary housing solutions for survivors of Hurricane Laura, the public comment period will be limited to three days. That period begins on February 6 and ends on February 8 at 5 p.m.
