LAKE CHARLES, La. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a body found in West Fork River over the weekend.
CPSO states that deputies received a call on March 28 around noon in reference to a possible body floating in the West Fork River off Frank Parker Road in Sulphur.
When deputies arrived they observed what appeared to be a body floating in the river. CPSO Marine Division arrived on scene and located the body of a man now identified as Robert J. Perkins, 41 of Reeves.
The sheriff's office says that there appeared to be no signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected.
The cause and manner of death are pending the coroner’s investigation.
