An Iowa High School student has been arrested after deputies say he made threats Wednesday during the lunch period.

The school's CPSO resource officer was notified at 1 p.m. of a possible threat from a student, and an investigation ensued. Detectives learned that during lunch, the 16-year-old stated that if students were alerted there was a shooting, that he would be responsible. The boy also allegedly stated he was, "trigger happy," and would kill as many students as he could, according to deputies.

The student was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. He is facing charges of Terrorizing and was also charged with possession of an electronic cigarette.

Calcasieu Parish School Board officials shared a statement Wednesday evening on Facebook, saying the board was "aware of a situation involving potentially threatening behavior towards the school," and that the situation was being full investigated by both the district and CPSO.
