The Calcasieu Parish School District is continuing to make between $200 and $300 million worth of repairs to its campuses after Hurricane Laura caused extensive damage.
Superintendent Karl Bruchhaus says he understands internet access is a problem for most of the district's students and their families.
That's why the school board will be lenient on students who can't attend virtual classes.
If any student is unable to return in a face-to-face environment, the school district says they can check in with their assigned teacher and continue with virtual learning.
