Cajun Navy group continues to coordinate volunteers, supplies after storms

In the aftermath of Hurricanes Laura and Delta, the Cajun Navy is continuing to coordinate volunteers and supplies in Southwest Louisiana.

The organization says they've rescued over 500 families and served more than 50,000 meals to those impacted by the storms.

The group is still on site in Lake Charles and has no plans to leave, they say, and volunteers and supplies are still needed.

Some supplies being accepted include socks, hand warmers, sheets, detergents, toilet paper. Donations can be dropped off at 710 Ryan Street in Lake Charles.

"It's easy to show up the week of a disaster, rescue a few people, and leave. And it's great to see the support, but that's not all that the Cajun Navy is about. We were here when it happened, and we are here to stay," said Rob Gaudet, founder and director.
