The Lake Charles Police Department has arrested two 18-year-olds in connection to three drive by shootings.
Police say Tyrell Byrd and Kiynen Chieves were arrested on Saturday, November 28 for multiple drive-by shootings.
The first drive-by shooting occurred on Saturday, November 21 at an address in the 1300 block of St. Mary Drive. Police say at the time of that shooting that 6 people were in the residence.
A second drive-by shooting occurred on Tuesday, November 24 at a residence located in the 200 block of N. Franklin Street. According to police, three people were in the residence at the time of the shooting including a young child.
The third drive-by shooting occurred on Friday, November 27 at the same residence in the 200 block of N. Franklin Street.
Following a investigation into all three shootings, detectives say they were able to link Byrd and Chieves to the incidents.
Byrd and Chieves were both arrested and booked on 9 counts of Drive by shooting and 9 counts of attempted second degree murder.
Their bonds have both been set at $750,000.
