School systems across Acadiana and the United States are dealing with another complication of the pandemic - a lack of substitute teachers.

For substitute teachers who are opting out, it's hard to say goodbye to the students.
"This will be what you'd call a second retirement," said substitute Rebecca Wright. "You develop those bonds, it's really difficult to let those things go."
