Students at Catholic High School and St. Edward School in New Iberia held their first day of classes Friday.
Catholic High School shared pictures of classes, showing students in masks with desks spread out and arrows on the ground in the hallways to direct traffic.
School officials say they have worked tirelessly to restructure elements of the campus to meet CDC, LDOE, LDH, and Diocese of Lafayette guidelines.
"The size of our student body and the ample amount of space both outside and inside on our campus give us many benefits that other schools may not have. We are blessed by the continued support of families during this unprecedented time of transition. We were happy to officially begin school today on campus," officials added.
