Public Schools in St. Landry Parish are beginning their school year today.
But learning this year for students will be virtual.
In a special meeting last month, the school board voted unanimously to push back the start day for students to September 8th.
The later than usual start is due to COVID-19 concerns.
The administration believed the delayed start would allow enough time for the materials required for virtual learning to arrive and be distributed.
If parents and students need any assistance with technology they are asked to call 337-942-0222.
For lunch pickup, if parents have students at different locations, they can pick up meals at the location closest to them.
You are not required to go to each child's school.
With the only exception being, high school students' meals must be picked up at a high school.
However, it doesn't have to be their high school.
