Back To School-St. Martin Parish

Student Hybrid Schedules Need To Be Followed
Posted
and last updated

St. Martin Parish public schools are reopening. Many changes and adjustments have taken place since the schools shut down in March. Because of COVID-19, schools will need to limit the number of students in the classrooms, and mask rules will be in place. To help with social distancing, some students will participate in a hybrid type of schedule with some students on campus, while others will use distance learning in virtual classrooms.

Those schedules have already been set for students, and Allen Blanchard, the St. Martin Parish Superintendent says parents must keep their students on the proper schedule, and changes will be limited to individual decisions.

He adds, "In general we're not going to allow changes.Only when there's a very specific reason and they need to have permission to do so. It would have to be a very valid reason for doing that. It's difficult to create those schedules, schools have to prepare, and we're trying to balance it where it's a fifty fifty split."
