Pro-life advocates in Vermilion Parish are walking in support of their beliefs.
The parish’s first Walk for Life was held this morning in Abbeville with supporters dressed in light blue and pink as they walked 1.5 miles through the city’s business district.
During the walk, the group stopped at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for prayer before returning to the 4-H building for food and beverages.
“Spearheading an event like this, I think it’s something that needed to be done. We’ve never had it before. They have a lot of different movements, but I think this is a very important movement for Vermilion Parish and surrounding parishes to get involved,” said event organizer Lance Broussard.
