The Vermilion Parish School Board will have to hire a new attorney.
Board attorney Kathy Boudreaux submitted her letter of resignation to superintendent Jerome Puyau last week. In the letter, Boudreaux says she was resigning because business at her private practice has increased and she wishes to concentrate her attention there.
Boudreaux is expected to work for the school system until the end of February. Hired over the summer, Boudreaux replaced retired school board attorney Woody Woodruff.
Puyau has informed the board of the Boudreaux’s resignation and the board has already begun advertising for the position.
