The cause of a fire that destroyed a home on Daspit Street in Gueydan over the weekend is still under investigation. Gueydan’s fire chief says no one was home, and it’s the second fire there within the past four months. The house was being rented out at the time of the fire, and we’re told at this point in the investigation, arson is not suspected. Five neighboring fire departments responded to the fire to help the Gueydan Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
