Severe flooding on Tuesday morning has caused several schools to close their doors in Acadiana. The following schools will be closed on October 16.
Iberia Parish Schools
Iberia Parish Superintendent Carey Laviolette says that Delcambre Elementary and Delcambre High School in Iberia Parish have closed.
Vermilion Parish Schools
All Vermilion Parish Schools will dismiss today at 11:00 am, according to interim superintendent Paul Hebert. Schools in the area were experiencing plumbing issues and lower attendance today due to flooding in the parish.
Vermilion Catholic, Mount Carmel, Maltrait Memorial closing at 11:00 a.m. in Vermilion Parish.
Parents were alerted of the early dismissal by school officials.
