The hero that pulled the eight puppies out of the Basin visited the puppies on Wednesday.
Every Paw Animal Rescue-EPAR, a foster-based rescue, posted the reunion on their Facebook page.
The eight puppies were found in the water on Sunday, February 16, after a fisherman witnessed a truck stop on the bridge near Potato Shed Road in Henderson. The fisherman thought the person had thrown out a bag of trash and went to get it out of the water. Instead he found eight newborn black lab puppies.
St. Martin Parish Deputies arrested 55-year-old Gary James Goulas of Breaux Bridge days later in connection with the case.
Goulas is facing eight charges of aggravated cruelty to animals.
