The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received an initial call of a death of a 5-year-old child by drowning on Saturday, March 9 in the Jeanerette area, a Facebook post by the agency states.
Detectives in the Investigation Section responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
Further details are pending final autopsy results.
