The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Berwick Fire Department are on the scene of a fire at the parish landfill in Berwick.
The fire began sometime Wednesday morning at the Harold J Babe Landry Landfill located on Landfill Lane in Berwick.
Deputies shared to their Facebook that the fire has been brought under control by the fire department. The sheriff’s department says the fire poses no threat at this time.
A cause for the fire was not known.
