Franklin woman arrested after ramming police vehicle, injuring two officers

The Chitimatcha Police Department says they arrested a woman after she rammed her vehicle into the back of a police unit while attempting to flee from officers.

Police say that 33-year-old Vicky Sanchez of Franklin was arrested on Wednesday after police say they attempted to conduct a traffic stop in relation to a narcotics investigation.

Sanchez allegedly fled the scene during the stop and rammed her vehicle into the back of another Chitimatcha Police unit that had responded to the scene. Police say Sanchez was apprehended after finally stopping her vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle fled from the car on foot, according to police.

Two officers were injured as a result of the collision.

Sanchez was arrested and booked on charges of Aggravated Flight from a Police Officer with Serious Bodily Harm, 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle upon a Police Officer, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Cocaine), and 7 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

She is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

Police say additional arrests are imminent.
