St. Martin Parish Officials announced Friday that the Butte La Rose pontoon bridge will close at noon on Sunday, May 26 due to high water.
Parish President Chester Cedars issued the order to close the bridge after consulting with engineers and the parish’s public works department.
The bridge will remain closed until the water recedes to a manageable level.
Cedars says that the closure is due to the effects of the high water conditions on the bridge’s structural integrity.
