St. Martinville man accused of raping 12-year-old with special needs

A St. Martinville man has been arrested, accused of raping a 12-year-old with special needs.

Police in St. Martinville say they were called last week about the incident. Upon investigation, police say they learned that 20-year-old Hunter Miller allegedly had sex with the 12-year-old.

Miller was arrested today and booked wih First Degree Rape. His bond has been set at $250,000.

Miller’s mother Michelle Miller was also arrested on Obstruction of Justice charges for allegedly hiding Mr. Miller in a New Iberia motel.

“I will not tolerate anyone hurting a child in our city. They will go to jail,” Chief Ricky Martin said. “These types of crimes, not only affect the child for the rest of their lives, but also affects the family of the victim.”
