UPDATE: The person accused of causing a crash that left a 16-year-old girl dead and her brother injured is wanted again.

Floydiece Washington, 31, of Melville, initially was arrested in Calcasieu Parish and booked into jail on a charge of felony hit-and-run driving. She posted bond and was released.

A court order indicates that Washington’s bond on an April arrest stipulated that she not engage in any criminal activity – and her arrest this week for the crash violates that requirement. The court has ordered she be held without bond until a hearing set for Tuesday.

Washington was arrested April 9 and booked with theft, unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property.

If you know where she is, call 911.

Memorial services set for victim in Opelousas fatal crash

Here’s the original story:

A 16-year-old Opelousas girl is dead and her brother injured after a hit-and-run crash last night.

Opelousas Police Chief Martin McLendon said Princess Washington died in the accident that happened at Church and Main streets last night.

She was riding in a car with her brother when another car allegedly ran a red light and crashed into their vehicle, the chief said.

The driver of that car, identified as Floydiece Washington, fled the scene in another vehicle, leaving her vehicle there, the chief said. A warrant is out for her arrest on a charge of felony hit-and-run driving. She is no relation to the Washington teens.

Princess Washington’s 19-year-old brother sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital, the chief said.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Floydiece Washington, they are asked to call Opelousas Police at 948-2500.
