One shot, one in custody in Breaux Bridge incident

A local teen is in jail today after Breaux Bridge Police investigated a shooting.

Police were called to St. Martin Hospital today after a female teenager was brought in with a gunshot wound. She is now in stable condition, police say.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Breaux Bridge Apartments on Margaret Street, police say. Detectives developed Peter Davontray Castille, 18, as the suspect in the shooting.

Castille was arrested and booked with five counts attempted second-degree murder and is in the St. Maritn Parish Correctional Center with bond set at $750,000.

Police say the 16-year-old victim was with four other teenage girls when she was shot.
