Two Breaux Bridge women arrested following disturbance last week

Two Breaux Bridge women have been arrested in connection with a large disturbance last week on Hebert Avenue.

Sheriff’s deputies say that on March 11, 2019, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hebert Avenue near its intersection with Benoit Road. The call was in reference to a report of a large disturbance involving several subjects, along with a report of shots fired.

Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office were notified and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old and 18-year-old Marquia Mitchell of Breaux Bridge. They have been charged with the following.

Elizabeth Demouchet

  • Principal to Aggravated Battery
  • Principal to Criminal Damage to Property
  • Principal to Simple Burglary
  • Criminal Damage to Property

Marquia Mitchell

  • Aggravated Battery
  • Criminal Damage to Property
  • Simple Burglary

Both were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. The investigation remains ongoing and other arrests are possible.
