As the water rises in Lower St. Martin Parish, sandbags are going up for those in the path of the flooding.

Monday, members of the Berwick Volunteer Fire Department helped out one of their own in Stephensville, putting sandbags up and pumping water away from their home.

St. Martin Parish Government declared a state of Emergency last week.

Waters have been rising steadily and several roadways have already seen flooding.

Sandbags are available for residents there seven days a week from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. until further notice at the Stephensville Park on Hwy., 70.
