Police Chief: Casino armed robbery suspect arrested in Texas

UPDATE: Races and Aces robbery suspect, Devon Bourda, has been arrested in Texas and is awaiting transport back to St Martinville, according to Chief of Police Ricky Martin, St Martinville Police Department.

One person is in custody following an armed robbery at a St. Martinville casino Tuesday morning.

Payton Byrd was arrested today on one count of principle to armed robbery.

Police say Byrd was working at Races and Aces Casino on N Main Street at the time of the robbery.

According to the initial report, Byrd reported a man walked into the front door of the casino and demanded money from the clerk.

Officers are continuing to search for Devin Bourda. He is wanted for armed robbery.
