A violent time in Acadiana’s history was reenacted along the Bayou Teche today.
The program called Vigilantes on the Bayou portrayed the struggle among American, Creole and Acadian landowners over ownership of the land near the bayou.
Hosted at the Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site, the audience was taken back in time as the landowners battled against one another.
