UPDATE: A 26-year-old man was arrested after a woman was found dead inside a home in Breaux Bridge.
Jatyran Sylvester was booked into jail with second-degree murder.
Police went to the home on Sidney Drive near Wild Cherry Lane after receiving a call about the death around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
Earlier, officers said the case was being investigated as a homicide, but the cause of death was unknown.
The identity of the 36-year-old victim has yet to be released.
